Coastal Mammalogist
Assistant Professor with research interests in Aquatic Mammals. Preference will be given to candidates who focus at the organismal level with research interests in some aspect of mammalian anatomy. The successful applicant will teach core Anatomy and Physiology courses and upper level courses in their specialty. UNF has designated Coastal Biology as a 'flagship' program and it is an established area of focus for the department. UNF is located between the ocean where Right Whales calf and Dolphin over winter and the St Johns River, home to a large population of Manatees. The surrounding aquatic habitats of our community provide diverse and exceptional opportunities for research in this field.
The Department of Biology at the University of North Florida invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Biology to begin August 3, 2010. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate (Masters level) teaching, maintaining an active, externally funded research program, and contributing to the department's service mission. The minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline with teaching or research experience earned by September 30, 2009. Evidence of teaching excellence is preferred.
